Ok, so it seems there are two versions of Devastator. One is all of the separate vehicles, that transform into individual robots. There are 4 Voyager Class figures, and 2 Deluxe Class figures, totaling around $100. Then there's the Devastator set, which is also around $100, and includes all of the vehicles that transform into combining parts. This is to keep up the quality, as it would be very difficult to make a figure that could go from vehicle, to robot, to arm, and have it look good... at the price of $200.
Here's Demolisher, the really big guy from the teaser trailer:
His transformation is really cool, and I really like the look of his non-humanoid anatomy.
Bonecrusher's brother, Rampage:
Now, here are the vehicle combiner figures, and the body part that they form, judging on their colors:
I'm not going to talk about the trailer, because I am speechless, and my opinion about it is probably exactly the same as yours. All I can say that is worth mentioning is that it's good to see some confirmation that Steve Jablonsky is staying on for the soundtrack. (2:14 near the top)
Also, a GM commercial showing off some vehicle modes for the movie.
These scenes are all going to be in different parts of the movie, which is good, because I really like the epic, speeding, group vehicle mode scenes.
Things that sucked about the first game that, from the looks of this trailer, don't seem to be changing: Horrible combat. Free roaming where there's actually nothing to do besides the missions. Clunky controls. Repetition.
Things that look good about this trailer: I love the new music. Graphics and explosions look better and more realistic. I loved the morph from Autobot, to Decepticon, to the Fallen, but that has nothing to do with the game...
Things that I would change for this game: Get rid of the impossible parts (Bumblebee in the damn protecting the Allspark from Megatron). Give me some side quests in free roam so I have something to do, instead of just filling up the "speed" and "throw" meters. When I "destroy" a building, I want it to collapse, not just stand there with all of it's outer walls broken off. Destroy All Humans could collapse entire citties years before Transformers came out, and Mercenaries 2 does it beautifully, so don't say it can't be done. Fix combat!!!!!
Now, here's a trailer for a game that I'm actually somewhat confident about.
OK, so Microsoft's official Austrian Xbox blog leaked an image and description of Sandbox, the new Mythic Map Pack Map. As you may know, this is the first screen shot of this highly anticipated map that will come with Orbital and Assembly in the Limited Edition of Halo Wars, that I will be pre-ordering this Saturday. The image gets really big, so open it in a new tab, and give it a look.
It's a symmetrical map that looks great for multi-flag and other objective game types. I think this map looks absolutely beautiful, and is described as "perfect for vehicular combat and Forge creations." The sunset and darkness gives it a really great feel that I can't describe until I get in there this March. I always knew that it would be in close proximity to Sandtrap and have the same style, but the outer wall along the expansive perimeter proves it.
Also, remember to watch the superbowl for the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen trailer! If it's anything more than a teaser I'd be shocked, but it'll still be cool. I'll have my new video camera by then, so I'll try to upload it on here temporarily, but nothing can beat watching it in your own home.
Thanks to Hawty McBloggy, and Bungie (pictures of the other two bundled mythic maps on there, too.)
